Databricks Team Introduction

On the 3rd of July, the Manchester Databricks User Group hosted its most exciting event yet, inspired by the Databricks Data + AI Summit hosted in San Francisco last month. Held at the vibrant Slalom office on Marble Street, the evening brought together data enthusiasts, engineers, and industry professionals for an unforgettable night of learning, collaboration, and community.

Insights from the Databricks Team

The highlight of the evening was a stellar line-up of talks delivered by Databricks staff, who shared cutting-edge insights from June’s Data + AI Summit.

Matt Slack, Senior Specialist Solutions Architect at Databricks, kicked off the evening with his talk, "Building Real-Time Trading Dashboards with Lakehouse Declarative Pipelines, Serverless OLTP, and Databricks Apps." Matt captivated the audience with a deep dive into how these tools can revolutionise real-time data processing and dashboard creation, offering practical insights and actionable takeaways for attendees.

Following Matt’s session, the Databricks team – Marius Panga, Lingesh Kanniappan, and Declan Watson – delivered a collaborative presentation titled "Data + AI Summit Round-Up: Unveiling Exciting New Features and Demos." The trio showcased the latest innovations from the Data + AI Summit, including powerful new features and live demos that highlighted the transformative potential of Databricks technology. Their presentation left the audience inspired and eager to explore these advancements in their own work.
